Jason Dos Santos was called to the Ontario Bar in 2003 after earning an Honours Bachelor of Arts (B.A. Hons.) at York University and completing his Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) at the University of Windsor. He began his career at Pinkofsky Lockyer, one of Canada’s most prestigious criminal defence firms, where he trained under some of the country’s most respected trial lawyers. Following his articles, he continued with the firm as an Associate and later became a Partner at its successor, Pinkofskys LLP, which grew to be the largest criminal law firm in Canada.
Over the course of more than two decades in practice, he has built a reputation as a fearless advocate and strategic litigator, committed to protecting the rights of his clients.
A veteran of over one thousand criminal trials in both the Ontario Court of Justice and the Superior Court of Justice, Jason brings extensive courtroom experience to every case. His track record includes the successful defence of charges ranging from First Degree Murder, Firearms and Drug Offences, and Criminal Organization cases to Sexual Assault, Domestic Assault, and Impaired Driving. His meticulous preparation, sharp courtroom skills, and tenacious cross-examination style have earned him respect among colleagues, clients, and judges alike.
Beyond criminal defence, Jason has also represented clients in complex quasi-criminal and regulatory proceedings, appearing before bodies such as the Liquor Control Board of Ontario, the Ontario Securities Commission, and the Landlord and Tenant Board.
Jason is an active member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Criminal Lawyers’ Association, and the Portuguese-Canadian Lawyers Association. Proud of his heritage, he is fluent in Portuguese and regularly assists members of the Portuguese-speaking community in navigating the justice system.
