Jason Dos Santos – Partner
Jason Dos Santos is a partner at Daniel Brown Law and a criminal defence lawyer in Toronto. He was called to the Ontario Bar in 2003, after earning an Honours Bachelor of Arts (B.A. Hons.) at York University and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) at the University of Windsor.
He began his career at Pinkofsky Lockyer, where he articled and trained under some of the country’s most respected trial lawyers. He stayed on as an associate and later became a partner at its successor firm, Pinkofskys LLP, one of the largest criminal law firms in Canada.
Jason has conducted over one thousand criminal trials in both the Ontario Court of Justice and the Superior Court of Justice. He defends charges ranging from first-degree murder, firearms offences, drug offences and criminal organization prosecutions to sexual assault, domestic assault and impaired driving. His meticulous preparation and tenacious cross-examination have earned him the respect of clients and colleagues alike.
Beyond criminal defence, Jason represents clients in complex quasi-criminal and regulatory proceedings, appearing before bodies such as the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, the Licence Appeal Tribunal, the Ontario Securities Commission, and the Landlord and Tenant Board.
Jason is a member of the Law Society of Ontario and the Criminal Lawyers’ Association, and a founding member of the Portuguese-Canadian Lawyers Association. He is fluent in Portuguese and can also communicate in Italian, Spanish, and French. Proud of his heritage, he regularly assists members of the Portuguese-speaking community in navigating the justice system.
Jason has provided legal commentary to Portuguese-language and Canadian media, including OMNI Television and Focus Portuguese, and has lectured at York University.
