Mya Westhaver

Mya brings a strong academic foundation and hands-on criminal defence experience to the firm. Originally from the East Coast, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Saint Mary’s University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, before completing her Juris Doctor at the University of New Brunswick. During law school, Mya assisted criminal defence counsel on legal aid files, contributing to all stages of case preparation, including legal research and drafting.

Prior to joining the firm, Mya articled at a well-established criminal defence practice in Toronto, where she gained experience in both trial and appellate work. Her exposure spanned a wide range of serious criminal matters, including drug trafficking and homicide cases.

As litigation support counsel, Mya plays an integral role in the day-to-day operations of the practice. She is responsible for managing legal and administrative matters, preparing court materials, and making court appearances on behalf of the firm’s clients. Her legal training and prior experience provide her with a deep understanding of the legal issues and high stakes faced by individuals accused of criminal offences, allowing her to support cases with insight and precision.

Mya is deeply committed to criminal defence work and takes pride in contributing meaningfully to the representation of the firm’s clients. She is a member of the Law Society of Ontario.
