Mya brings a strong academic foundation and hands-on criminal defence experience to the firm. Originally from the East Coast, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Saint Mary's University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, before completing her Juris Doctor at the University of New Brunswick. During law school, Mya assisted criminal defence counsel on legal aid files, contributing to case preparation, legal research, and drafting.

Prior to joining the firm, Mya articled at an established criminal defence practice in Toronto, where she gained experience in both trial and appellate work. Her files ranged across serious criminal matters, including drug trafficking and homicide cases.

As litigation support counsel, Mya manages legal and administrative aspects of the practice, prepares court materials, and makes court appearances on behalf of the firm's clients. Her legal training and prior experience give her a practical understanding of the pressure a criminal charge places on the people living through it.
