Teodora Pasca

Julia’s practice focuses on complex criminal trials and appeals. She understands that a person accused of a crime can face massive power imbalances in the criminal system, and she advocates fiercely for just outcomes for her clients.

Julia has clerked for some of Canada’s most respected criminal judges, first at the Court of Appeal for Ontario for Chief Justice Michael Tulloch, Associate Chief Justice Fairburn and Justice Gillese, and subsequently for Justice Michael J. Moldaver at the Supreme Court of Canada. Julia’s clerkship experience gives her unparalleled insight into crafting a winning appeal argument.

Before joining Daniel Brown, she also worked as a commercial litigator at a leading New York City law firm.

Julia completed her Juris Doctor at the University of Toronto, where she graduated with honours. There, she volunteered as a caseworker in the immigration and refugee division of Downtown Legal Services, working with low-income clients on many types of applications and appeals. She also gained advocacy experience in the mooting program, participating in and coaching the Wilson Moot on equality law as well as the Grand Moot. Before law school, Julia studied philosophy at Queen’s University, graduating as the gold medallist in her undergraduate program.

Julia is a member of the Law Society of Ontario and the Criminal Lawyers’ Association. She can be reached to schedule a consultation by phone at (416) 297-7200 x111 or by email at [email protected].
